Swine Flu Has Nothing On This Pandemic
Earlier this morning we had a phone conversation with a guy named Michael Port. You may know Michael – he's the bestselling author of "Book Yourself Solid" and other excellent books.
Michael just released a new book this week (http://www.thinkbigmanifesto.com) and, frankly, it's kicking up a lot of dust. We asked him, "Who did you write this book for?"
His answer, very instructive…and that's what we're writing to you about today.
Michael said, "All those big thinkers. I'm talking about the biggest, brightest, forward-thinking, still dreaming, hard core intellectual thinking, down-to-earth realistic-being and even the most unconfessed, self-professed and secretive big thinkers (and, that pretty much covers everyone)."
We all had a big laugh.
But we got to talking after the call about "big thinkers" – and how few there really are.
You know, right now small thinking is a much bigger pandemic than swine flu or any other crazy threat we face. Small thinking keeps most of us down, pinned under the heel of greatness. Screw that.
You need to rise up and revolt against small and go big. Now and always.
More than 30 years ago Robert Ringer wrote about the "Ice Ball Theory" which basically said that in 50 billion years the sun would burn out and the earth would be a ball of ice. There's no way we're getting out of this alive!
Small thinking is a form of fear. But what could possibly be worth being fearful of when compared to the reality of the ice ball theory? What's the worst that can happen by "Thinking Big?"
Maybe you're saying, "I just don't have the resources to think big right now." We'd say, "Resourcefulness is more important than resources. Do something with what you've got right now."
Do you have $13 right now? Most people do. We'd recommend a safe bet would be placing that $13 on Michael's new book. (http://www.thinkbigmanifesto.com)
That would be an excellent way to get started on the path to becoming a BIG thinker and accomplishing BIG things.
That's all for today. Make it the biggest and best yet…
