How To Buy A Domain Without Getting Robbed -- WTF? Episode #36

WTF? is a daily web show for small business owners and entrepreneurs who want to learn how to naturally attract customers and get the FAME and FORTUNE they deserve.

Today's WTF? Episode is a rant on the worst web site on the Internet… GoDaddy.com. We use GoDaddy.com a lot and we're constantly driven to near primal rage by the crazy up selling they do on the site with no regard for what their customers actually want. Having a process is important but make sure your process is beneficial to your customers and has their best interests at heart.

Hey guys,
I totally agree with you. Upselling is fine. But PLEASE. I use GoDaddy for all my domain registration for all my clients that don't want to do it for themselves. But it is a bit frustrating when they try to sell you every other domain known to man, plus security, plus the business plan, etc. I just want a domain, get in and get out. That's about it.

Keep up the videos! Love 'em.

A resounding "Here, here!" on that one. Buying domains for clients via GoDaddy almost becomes a value added service just so they don't have to navigate through the mine fields of upsells.

In fact I hereby nominate GoDaddy.com for the "You want fries with that" memorial upsell trophy. Any seconds?

Yo! Have you seen the 'express buy' right there on gd's home page? click express buy - type in domain -> boom you're in the cart!!!
