As it stands, saccharine presently carries a government mandated warning label that it is known to cause cancer in laboratory animals (you’ve prol’ly seen it on the side of a Mr. Pibb can).
Aspartame is broken down in the body to wood alcohol, subsequently broken to formaldehyde, a fixative and a known carcinogen (cancer causing agent). Formaldehyde is then broken down into formic acid, which is the same strong caustic used by fire ants to administer their sting.
You might also wanna Google "Sodium Lauryl Sulfate" (aka SLS), sodium nitrates (“Sodium nitrate is used as an ingredient in fertilizers, pyrotechnics, as a food preservative, and as a solid rocket propellant, as well as in glass and pottery enamels; the compound has been mined extensively for those purposes.” (Source: Wikipedia), or propylene glycol.
Chances are, you're eating plastic more often than not. Last time we went to the grocery store, my dh and I were gonna get some filet minon wrapped in bacon (prepackaged this one time). It had SLS - the stuff they use to make FLOOR DEGREASER as a "wettening agent".
Yikes.
It may cost a bit more to shop at Whole Foods, but knowing whats in your food can add years to the life of your family members! ALWAYS READ THE LABEL!
