WTF? is a daily web show for small business owners and entrepreneurs who want to learn how to naturally attract customers and get the FAME and FORTUNE they deserve.

Today's show is like Rocky Balboa vs. Ivan Drago. Which one do you like better? Which Social Media site reigns supreme? We talk about the both Twitter and Facebook. We compare them on today's episode and we land the knock out blow.

Watch the show and then let us know if you agree or disagree with our pick. We anticipate that this video will create some strong opinions. We'd love to hear yours. So leave a comment on the blog.

Maybe it's because I'm old (at least old enough to be your mother), but I don't need things to go fast in my life. I am happy to slow down and treasure life's calm moments. The business I work for is not in the fast lane, either. I use twitter for the business, as my boss requested, but I really don't see that it's of much use to us. We get daily comments from our facebook friends. We get no comments from our twitter followers. Of course, if it wasn't for twitter I would not have had the opportunity to meet the two of you, so in that respect it has been a good thing.

I'm trying to stay classy! ;) lol

I prefer Facebook as a medium because its more possible for meaning connection there. I love Twitter because it is real time, and its fun. I love that you can link the two, so that Facebook can receive your tweet updates if you want - just got to be careful not to overload your facebook account with too many tweets!

APOLLO DIES??? WTF guys??? Thanks a LOT for spoiling Rocky 4 for me!

Facebook is all right, but I find it hard to "get myself to head over there and be active" regularly, whereas Twitter is in a small app window I can keep on the second screen and check in every now and then without too much effort or distraction.

Plus, like you said, the real time aspect is killer and it's great for both business and personal.
I was getting up-to-the minute-live news of wildfires where my family lives last week, which you can't even get anywhere else.

Definitely Twitter

Funny stuff man, I love the vids!
Cheers

At the end of the day, which medium drives more $$$ in to your bank account. I find it very difficult to convert tweets to cash, where as having a facebook fan page has certainly helped the cash flow.

The other thing about twitter, is who is actually reading your tweets... I'm following about 100 people, and a lot of them, including you guys, tweet several times per day, so that actually makes reading all these tweets almost impossible. Especially the replies that don't really make sense because there is no context. So I skip over a lot of them. How many tweets of your followers do you actually read?

It seems to me, the only way to measure that is to have a link in your tweet and then monitor where it came from via google analytics or the like.

What's the plan of attack for the future when people start following 2000 people and every one tweets 3 times a day? How do you stand out in their tweet feed?

Stay Funky!

Definitely Twitter for me...

I resisted Twitter for months before I finally gave in, but when I did, I found it easy to stay. I resisted Facebook even more - but I did create an account, thinking I will eventually come to find it useful and enjoyable, but it hasn't happened yet.

I just can't seem to get into Facebook - the format feels cluttered and the conversations seem more centered around "personal" connections and updates.

I agree with Jay that it takes more effort to be active on Facebook, whereas with Twitter, I can check in a few times a day quickly, and still feel connected.

Plus, Twitter gives me a quick and way to stay informed about local news and events I care about in my area.

So +1 for Twitter...

It's up in the air for me. I really love them both, and get business from both. Please Please don't make me choose!

Okay guys...I have always liked what you two goofballs (don't hate -- I'm a self-proclaimed goofball myself) have had to say but WTF? In your video you even highlight the reality several times...They BOTH have their merits, and can both play key roles in your personal and business lives.

To achieve the best of both worlds (I was talking to the computer screen the entire time I was watching your video fervently stating that you can link your twitter to your facebook page) you just have to do what you talk about at 5:26 of your message...link the two...then tweet all day long and your facebook page will be updated. Done.

Okay...wait...silly me...you got me...you guys!!!! It's all about the commenting, and the talking to the computer, and the talking about it...you two really are MARKETING MANIACS!

Luv Ya! Ciao!

I've written like 2 blog posts worth of stuff in this comment box and deleted it! Here's the short version.

Facebook is easier for most people to "get" quickly. Twitter seems stupid to everyone at first. "Better" is subjective and the answer depends. On a lot of stuff.

Personally I like Twitter better because its 1) easier 2) lower bandwidth 3) easier to drop in and out of during the day 4) more responsive and 5) faster to connect with others and build relationships.

On Twitter I have personally 1) had clients referred to me 2) found vendors 3) gotten fast answers to "expert level" questions of all sorts 3) landed public speaking gigs 4) been asked to contribute to a book and 5) explored partnership opportunities with folks drastically different than me.

On Facebook I've connected with some old friends from high school who still think I'm a pretty weird guy.

Yep. Twitter wins hands down for me. :)

Thanks all for the comments! Much love from the gmark guys!

Darren -- you're funny. I was saying at the beginning of the message..."Don't you realize...it's all about getting you to talk..." and they you come to the same conclusion. Spot on my friend. Hope you're well.

See you all soon!

I got on facebook and twitter at about the same time. I find they both have their uses, personal and business. I am finding more and more people selling stuff on twitter, or at least trying to direct you to places to buy their stuff. All the Guru's want you to stay on twitter all the time because, otherwise, you wouldn't see the ads their robots are sending out on twitter!! I still like twitter because every once in a while you can hook up with a real person and actually do some social networking. Facebook, you can tie in with twitter and keep it more personal at the same time. You can also express your points in greater detail than you can in 140 characters. So, long story short, I would call it a tie, both have their advantages and disadvantages to one another. We'll have to see how twitter develops in the not too distant future.

Facebook is social networking. Twitter is marketing posing as social networking.

Well I do enjoy your Vblogs however there is no competition, simply because twitter and facebook do not compete Twitter is a micro-blogging platform and facebook, is more like a blogging platform.
Twitter is the conversation on the phone or the txt messaging, and date setting tool, facebook is the first, second or 3rd date, and your blog or page is your home.
So as you can see no competition but an integration.
Like the man said "If I can change....and you can change, than maybe we can all changeeee!!!!
(th russian crown erupts in aplause and awe!) =)
stay classy guys
