Great points on fear of failure. It can be truly paralysing when you get stuck and are afraid to try new things. Once you do it though, the liberation is well worth it.

I have faced, and more importantly forced myself to overcome and push through, the fear of failure so many times now that I no longer notice it. If you want to be successful in entrepreneurship, which takes incredible persistence and unshakable self-confidence, you must knock out your fear of failure as early on in your career as possible. Remember that when you fail, you've simply learned how not to do something, and that what doesn't kill you (and failure rarely does unless you're an avid sky diver) makes you stronger or smarter.

Guys I have failed at EVERYTHING I ever did. My father and mother had failure tatooed on my arm when I was 26! My friends and family call me failure instead of Joe! Its been a rocky road for this 57 yr. old guy. I once worked for a rock quarry and directed a driver of a 50 ton dump truck back up too far and it fell into the quarry squashing 19 men. I once owned a parrot store, after the parrots had been around the store for a while they stopped talking, One day a customer with a stroller held the door open and they ALL flew out the door, 125K in exotic birds gone!! I once opened a computer repair store, I know little about PC or Mac repair, I figured I would learn from the tech I would hire. I never got a tech to work for me so I repaired pc's by spraying WD-40 on all the insides. That got them out the door happy but low and behold they came storming back wondering why their computer had some type of oil all over and it still didn't work. I failed again, so You don't tell me about failing, I wrote the book, I now own a lawn company now, yesterday I ran over a families pet hedge hog, I might have failed again? But keep going onwards and upwards to the next failure............................................
